General Information
The UOIG recruits twice a year, once in the beginning of fall term and once at the end of winter term. The UOIG does not have a maximum number of members, but the application process is selective. Typically we host an open meeting and an information session before the application deadline. Dates for these sessions will be posted above.
Candidate Description and Minimum Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses advanced analytical abilities and is able to perform aptly in a team environment. Such a candidate will respond well to criticism, present ideas thoughtfully, enjoy learning, and mentor peers. The UOIG is a significant time commitment, and some members report spending more than 20 hours per week on work for the group. It is important that candidates consider their availability before applying.
Freshman, classified as students with less than 45 credits, though not eligible for membership in the group, are eligible for the "Explore Finance" program. Seniors are eligible for membership in the group during the fall cycle but not during the winter. Seniors are classified as students with less than three consecutive terms remaining at the UO, excluding summer terms.
Admittance Process
Candidates will submit our online application. This application includes a resume, cover letter, and essay sections. The application must be submitted by the deadline posted above, and late applications will not be considered.
UOIG Management will contact candidates after reviewing their written applications. Applicants selected to advance will progress to an interview round. These interviews typically take one hour to complete and business formal attire is suggested. Applicants will be notified via email or phone call regarding the group’s decision.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the application process. You can submit inquiries via our online message form or directly contact Andrew Busche, Director of Outreach, at abusche@uoregon.edu.
