The UOIG recruits twice a year, once in the beginning of fall term and once at the end of winter term. Although the group does not have a maximum number of members, the application process is selective. We hold information sessions on the group typically a week before the application deadline. Dates for these sessions will be posted here on our website.

– Ability and willingness to learn
– Knowledge of economics, finance, and accounting
– Comfort speaking in public
– Ability to take and respond to criticism
– Comfort working as part of a team
– Seek candidates who bring a diversity of ideas, backgrounds, and interests

The process for applying requires a couple of steps:

First, candidates must submit an application (which you can download below), cover letter, and resume to our office in 355A Lillis by the deadline.

After your application has been submitted, the UOIG Management Group will screen applications and contact you if you are selected to advance to the interview process.

Interviews typically take about 40-45 minutes and attire is business formal. You will also be asked to complete a financial acumen survey prior to the interview, so we ask applicants to show up about 15 minutes before their scheduled interview time.

You will be notified via email or phone call of the group’s decision. Additional details will be provided at that time.
